I believe that my extensive background and experience in the business world will enable me to establish an open, honest, and efficient management system for our district.  As a successful business owner and manager, I understand the importance of strong fiscal management and the need to effectively respond to challenges facing our district.  For far too long, we have seen a school board more interested in self-promotion rather than true leadership – I fully commit to reversing that trend and putting the interests of the community and students first.

With my own child poised to enter Galt High School, I have a deep interest in the quality of education in this district and will work hard to create the kind of district of which we can all be proud.

  • Our community deserves the TRUTH, even if it isn’t pleasant.
  • Our community deserves Board Members that understand their role.
  • Our community deserves a Board that works together, is honest with each other and the public.
  • Our community is entitled to a Board that will listen to all concerns, even if they don’t agree.
  • Our community deserves business decisions made in a timely manner.
  • Our community deserves a School Board that supports administration and educators

Community Involvement

I became politically active during the Measure G campaign, the $30 million bond failure that would have built a $6 million office building for 8 administrators.

.

Before the election I had the pleasure of serving on the new Liberty Ranch Independent Oversight Committee. The committee is charged with overseeing the design and construction of the new high school. We are currently $10 over budget and hoping to see a completed set of plans before September 2006.

My Goals

  • Restore TRUST.

  • Bring honest, ethical, and efficient management to our district.

  • End the era of "back door" politics.

  • To see our district run in an efficient, professional, business-like manner.

  • See a properly designed Liberty Ranch High School built on time, on budget.

  • To see direct honest communication between the district and the public.

  • To support those programs that hold administration, educators, and students to a higher standard, and see that those individuals that do perform are rewarded.
